A Little Black Dress Affair | Recap

We had a wonderful evening celebrating fall fashion at Hilldale with our event on September 23rd :: A Little Black Dress Affair. Women from throughout the Madison area came together to enjoy exclusive discounts, LBD cupcakes, a mix & mingle and a fashion show. We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening and if you haven’t been over to the newly remodeled Hilldale yet – we encourage you to do so! Offering an unparalleled selection of national and local retailers, Hilldale is the premier venue for upscale shopping and dining in Madison.

A portion of proceeds from the event benefited the Gilda’s Club Madison. Attendees also had a chance to purchase raffle tickets for a prize valued at $500 and 100% of the raffle proceeds went to Gilda’s Club. The mission at Gilda’s Club is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. They provide that for more than 2,200 men, women and children including those living with cancer, their families and friends, co-workers and neighbors; and survivors of cancer and family survivors.

Gigi’s Cupcakes treated moms to a LBD cupcakes – with the proceeds benefiting Gilda’s Club… cupcakes for a good cause sound like a win/win to me!

Locally owned Morgan’s Shoes, Stride Rite & New Balance were ready to make the whole family’s feet happy with 20% off each total purchase.

Another locally owned store, Mes Amies, offered exclusive discounts of 20% off jewelry and 15% off clothing for the event – if you haven’t yet checked this store out, it’s a must see dress boutique!

Pasqual’s had a special for our attendees on their Blueberry Lavender margaritas… if you didn’t get a chance to try one – they are just SO good! FlatTop had an exclusive 15% off, Play Things offered a 20% discount, L’Occaitane had a 10% promotion + samples and Ulla Eyewear had fun games & giveaways! Evereve had a 15% discount for our event, lululemon gave away a free tank (in choice of color, size & style) to one lucky winner, Title Nine donated 9% of all sales to the Gilda’s Club!

Cornblooms provided a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed in-store cocktail party (and movie screening!) along with 20% off!

We were excited to also have many of the ‘new’ Hilldale retailers participate in our event! Lush, kate spade, White House Black Market, Cafe Hollander and Mes Amies were all involved. And our swag bags also included discounts to Sperry, Lucky & Madewell!11

Our ‘Mix & Mingle’ kicked off at 6pm and included beer from Cafe Hollander, Zanzibar Floats from Cadence Cold Brew Coffee & Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream (to.die.for!!!), a lipstick bar from Macy’s, a photo booth (with on the spot printing of pics… so fun!), various appetizers and of course it wouldn’t be a girls night out without plenty of wine!

Our friends at Madison Smiles Solution helped make the event possible and not only that, but they had a giveaway for a spa day at The Edgewater! Holly B. was the lucky recipient of that! If you’ve been considering Invisalign, be sure to check out their upcoming Bracetoberfest where one attendee will win FREE Invisalign (yes, FREE… you read that right!)

Our Fashion Show took place at 7pm and Michelle Carolla of Fox 47 was the emcee!

Destiny D. Photography was the talented photographer who captured these images and more throughout the evening – she did such an incredible job!  Be sure to check her out the next time you’re looking for child or family portraits.

A great big thank you to Hilldale for hosting the event, to Barry Chic for managing the Fashion Show and to all of you who made it out and joined us!  We hope you all had a wonderful time, and we can’t wait to see you again at our next Mom’s Night Out!

Madison is such a cool city. We love it around here. We live here too and our vision is to create a platform where real parents share real stories and we can all learn from one another. You will get to know real moms doing life right here in our neighborhoods and find information on a wealth of topics – local summer camps, preschools, swim lessons, shops and boutiques, events and experiences as so much more.

  1. Hello Alisa,

I was with you at the registration table on Wednesday evening for the “Little Black Dress Affair”. I just wondered if you could email the picture of the 4 of us girls that were helping sell raffle tix for Gilda’s club?
