(Madison, WI): First Tee – South Central Wisconsin has announced its 2nd annual Girls Golf Day presented by Culvers and hosted by Vitense Golfland.
Girls Golf Day
Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 from 4pm-7pm
Vitense Golfland | 5501 Schroeder Road Madison, WI
Girls Golf is a FREE event for girls ages 5-18 which promotes the game of golf through empowering women and girls while strengthening our local community. They are aiming to serve more than 100 participants by having them participate in various stations that encourage health, safety, and support for female golfers.
The event is being planned by Allyssa Ferrell, former Michigan State University golfer and Michigan State University Athlete of the Year (2014). Ferrell also played on the Symetra tour, participating in more than 50 events, and winning the 2018 Garden City Classic at Buffalo Dunes, which she will be returning to this year.
Enrich, Empower, Engage, Energize, and Exercise
The 5 stations featured will be the LPGA’s five Es – Enrich, Empower, Engage, Energize, and Exercise. The activities include long and short game, exercise and nutrition, and listening to female mentor share their stories from around the community. Culvers has generously sponsored the event the past year as it was postponed due to COVID. Sherri Steinhauer started the event with First Tee in 2019, hosting girls from throughout the greater Madison area. They hope to continue this tradition for many years to come, enriching this game with more girl power!
