The Wisconsin Capitol Holiday Tree is back in 2021 – this tree has become a Wisconsin holiday tradition! It will be lit beginning December 3, 12 – 1 p.m. – there will be a youth choir performing at the tree lighting as well.
The 32-foot balsam fir tree was donated to the state by the Menominee Nation. And this year children and families from all over the state have created homemade ornaments to decorate the Wisconsin Capitol Holiday Tree. This year’s theme is “Hometown for the Holidays,” meaning each ornament will illustrate the creator’s hometown, neighborhood or community.
The Capitol Holiday Tree is filled with handmade ornaments each year and is located in the rotunda of the building.
It is free to view and open to the public.
