Four Floors of Exhibits
In addition to Wisconsin history, Wisconsin Historical Museum provides information about other American history topics through artifacts, photographs, full-scale dioramas, audio-visual presentations, and interactive multimedia programs. The museum features four floors of permanent and changing exhibits and documents Wisconsin history from prehistoric times to the present day. Exhibits encompass the history of Wisconsin’s Native Americans, European immigrants, agriculture, mining, lumbering, industry, tourism and political history.
Through these exhibits, guests will learn about Wisconsin’s political heritage, working lives, ethnic diversity, and sense of community.
Featuring both permanent and special temporary exhibits, showcasing many fascinating historical items, and having a wonderful selection of gifts for sale, the Wisconsin Historical Museum is a wonderful place to explore on the Madison Capitol Square!
