12 BEST HAUNTED HOUSES IN WISCONSIN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

There are quite a few haunted houses around Wisconsin that you can venture out to this fall. These houses aren’t for the young. All will require an age of at least 10-12 and many are more appropriate for grownups.

Looking for a scare? A thrill? Like to be kept up all night living in fear? Despise clowns and chainsaws? Scared of zombies walking around? Let our guide take you on an adventure so scary, you might not even be able to return. 


Madison

Schuster’s Haunted Forest – Open every Friday and Saturday, starting September 28 – November 2, Schuster’s Haunted Forest is located in Deerfield, WI. Visit their website for more information.

Screamin’ Acres – With 4 different haunts, it’s a terrifying experience you won’t want to miss. Tickets are only available online. Make sure to check their Facebook page for an opening weekend promotion! Visit Screamin’ Acres for more information. Open Fridays and Saturdays  starting September 28 – November 2.

Terror at Tyrol – This haunted experience starts with a ride on the chairlift to the attraction which is comprised of 4 different themes. Open on Fridays and Saturdays starting on October 5th through November 2nd. Visit Tyrol at Terror for more information and tickets.

Waukesha (& surrounding area)

Wisconsin Fear Grounds – Wisconsin Fear Grounds is currently for sale and may not open for the 2024 season. Check their website and Facebook page for updates. This complex offers 2 different haunted houses spread throughout 55,000 square feet. You’ll start your experience in The Compound, followed by Sketchy’s Chambers. Open Fridays and Saturdays in October from 7pm to 11pm. Live bands and open waiting areas. Book early because space is limited. Check out Wisconsin Fear Grounds for more information and details.

The Hollow at Phantom Lake (Mukwonago) – Looking for a more family-friendly scare? Take a stroll through The Hollow at Phantom Lake this fall. Enter a world of enchantment, filled with over 3,000 hand carved illuminated Jack O’lanterns. This outdoor, family friendly, evening under the stars is sure to become a yearly tradition. Open Friday and Saturdays in October.

Milwaukee

The Hill Has Eyes – Join in Milwaukee’s most terrifying haunted attraction. With 4 different attractions all in one, you’ll be busy all night. Walk through a haunted woods, take a broken ski lift and see what you spot below. Enter a haunted house and see what happened to all the people who used to live there and you can also attend the devil’s carnival. See clowns and freaks who have given up their soul…just make sure to keep yours. Tickets range in price depending on the date and purchase. West Bend

The Meadowbrook Haunted Cornfield – Not recommended for those under the age of 12. Enjoy a bonfire filled with haunted stories. Afterwards, muster up your courage to walk through this live action haunted corn field maze. Come to Meadowbrook during the day for more family friendly events. Racine/ Kenosha

Abandoned Haunted House – This complex offers four different haunted attractions. Featuring three different interactive haunted houses, there is also an axe throwing attraction. They are open rain or shine, and will give out free ponchos when needed. Opens September 27. Check out Abandoned Haunted House  for more information.

Sheboygan

Dominion of Terror – This haunted attraction has been put on by the Sheboygan Jaycees for over 40 years. They are a non-profit haunted house sponsored by many business in Sheboygan. Experience different rooms that assault different sense and ride or die in a coffin ride. Visit their Facebook page for specials. Looking for something more family friendly? Appleton

The Burial Chamber – This is the Midwest’s Largest Haunted Complex and voted as one of the best Screamparks in America by Hauntworld.com. With 2 massive indoor haunted houses, 1 outdoor trail, 1 buried alive simulator, and 4 coffin rides, there is plenty to do for an entire evening. Visit The Burial Chamber for more information. Green Bay Area

Green Bay Fear Haunted Attractions – Delivering a complex full of decisions you can choose which haunted attraction you want to go to.
