Madison Family was formerly known as Madison Mom and was co-founded in August of 2013 by two friends – Alisa Sleep & Jamie Lacey – who were looking for an all encompassing resource for Madison area families. Both had relocated to the area and felt there was a need for an online community that would provide online resources, share about local events and things to do in the community, provide content geared towards parents and also connect families offline. In 2015 Jamie’s family relocated to Kohler, Wisconsin – but we are so thrilled that she was willing to help Madison Family get up and running and help it become what it is today.
We absolutely love the Madison area and all the unique opportunities that our community provides and we love being able to offer a go-to resource to make parenthood in the Madison area a little easier (and more fun) to navigate!

Meet Alisa OWNER & CO-FOUNDER
Alisa was born and raised in small town Iowa before attending and graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in business finance and psychology. She then lived in Chicago, southern Georgia, Naples, FL and Des Moines, IA before settling in Madison in 2012 with her husband Joe and their three children (Ava, Nora & Jacob).
Introverted by nature, adventurous by choice, Alisa loves exploring the world with her family. When she’s not working from home, she’s walking her Boston Terrier, Sunny; logging miles on her Peloton (oh_hill_yes); playing pickleball or tennis; shuttling kids from place to place; hanging with her Book Club; cheering on college sports (Go Cyclones!); planning her next beach escape; tackling the NYT’s daily Wordle; or – let’s be honest – waiting in the Target curbside pickup line!
