(Madison, WI): Capitol Boat Club in Madison offers pontoon and deck boat rentals. You are able to rent a boat for the morning, the afternoon – or all day. They also offer add-ons for things like lily pads, tubes and even a captain if you don’t feel confident (or don’t want to be the one) driving the boat yourself.
The boats seat 11-12 people, so you could easily split the cost with another family (or two); or head out with couples or friends!
Rentals and Charters on Lake Mendota
Capitol Boat Club offers a well maintained rental fleet. The Pontoons and Deck Boat are brand new for 2021 and equipped with everything you need for a memorable day on the water.
All boats are equipped with:

- Premium Bluetooth Studio
- Anchor
- Life Vests
- Available lily pads and tubes
- Option to add a captain
- Rentals include the cost of fuel and are open to the public.

In addition to the rentals mentioned above – Capitol Boat Club also offers memberships. With Weekday Plans; Shared Plans; and Unlimited Access plans available. Think of it like a country club, but for boats!
Some Fun Outing Ideas

Start out with a slow (or fast) cruise around the lake while everyone has some snacks and a beverage or two. Then, anchor the boat in Three Foot Bay (aptly named, because you can stand about waist to chest deep on a sandy bottom). Enjoy some time throwing a frisbee, football, or ping pong balls into cups on a floating inflatable table.

Take a leisurely cruise across the lake to The Terrace. Stop and grab a burger or some cheese curds and head back to the boat. Cruise around Maple Bluff and take in the beautiful landscape. Spend the rest of your time swimming or relaxing on the boat.

Everyone has networking events at bars. Why not throw a more intimate event on the water? Have your association, fraternity, sorority, new co-workers, or anyone else you want to get to know better join you for a unique opportunity to chat and imbibe on a boat.

The Land n’ Sea Bar Crawl (captain required). Whether it’s a weekend afternoon or a weekday happy hour, Madison offers several destinations that can be reached by boat. Start out at the Terrace and grab a burger and a beer before boarding the boat. We’ll take you up to Mariner’s Inn or Nau Ti Gal for stop number two. From there, we’ll head over to the Edgewater’s Boat House for stop three, and finally drop you off back at the Terrace.
