Lake Wingra
Lake Wingra is a 336 acre lake located in Madison (connected to Lake Monona). It has a maximum depth of 14 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing and a public beach. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.
Dane County Parks
The Lake Access Permit may be purchased online, is a 15-month permit (January 1 through March 31 of the following year) and required for most designated launch sites in the City of Madison, City of Monona, and Dane County Parks. Lake Access Permits are required year-round. Learn more here.
Big Green Lake
Green Lake is a 7920 acre lake located in Green Lake County – about 90 minutes from Madison. It has a maximum depth of 236 feet, making it the deepest inland lake in the area. Visitors have access to the lake from public boat landings and public beaches. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Trout, Walleye and Catfish.
Delavan Lake
Delavan Lake, about 75 minutes from Madison, is a large 1900+ acre body of water that runs as deep as 52 feet. The lake is home to Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass and Panfish.
