ICE & SNOW SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS COMING TO MADISON

From February 3-8, 2025, Madison, Wisconsin, will host the World Ice and Snow Sailing Championships, bringing elite and recreational racers from around the globe to Lake Mendota for a thrilling winter spectacle. Competitors will race for World Championship titles in course racing, marathon, speed, short track slalom, and freestyle, with male and female champions crowned in each category.

The competition is part of the annual Frozen Assets Festival, a celebrated event organized by the Clean Lakes Alliance. In addition to the high-speed racing action, the festival offers a wide array of activities, including a 5K run-walk, ice skating, and family-friendly attractions that draw thousands of visitors to downtown Madison.

Spectators can catch the excitement as racers glide across the ice at speeds approaching 60 miles per hour. Prime viewing spots include the Edgewater Hotel and the UW Memorial Union Terrace, offering breathtaking views of the action on Lake Mendota!
