In true fashion when we go on any of our vacations I plan like no one’s business. I research where we should stay, what we should all do, places to eat, etc. etc. Same thing goes with deciding on what we need to pack and bring along. One big item that was on my mind was finding a bed for my toddler. My toddler moves around a lot when she sleeps and because of that having her sleep in a normal raised bed doesn’t work.
After doing some research I read a lot of good reviews on The Shrunks Indoor Tuckaire Toddler Travel Bed. What I was looking for in a bed for our toddler was something that was of good quality and that would last for many trips in the future, that is was compact and the comfort level…would my kid sleep in it?
Just recently on our trip to Rosemary Beach we were able to try out The Shrunks Travel Bed. To be honest with you I wasn’t quite sure how our toddler would do sleeping anywhere else other than in her bed period, but this bed did not disappoint. We of course hyped it up, saying things like, “Nola you are so lucky you get to sleep in this awesome new bed” or “Nola I wish I could sleep in this bed”, parent’s we all know how this drill works. The first evening there we got out the bed, had her be part of blowing up the mattress and putting on the sheet and then we read her a bedtime story in the bed. We were trying to keep her involved and integrate what we typically do during bedtime back at home. Guys we were away for 2 weeks and she slept great in it! We honestly were so proud and surprised! Our kid doesn’t have the best track record on sleeping habits thus far.
A few features we loved about The Shrunks travel bed was that for packing purposes it is pretty compact. We could nudge it into our car trunk no problem. I loved the fact that it’s designed to use crib sheets because we all have some of those extra ones lying around and it feels good to lengthen out their use. The way the bed is designed that you can tuck the sheet into the inner mattress so the sheet stays on snugly. Lastly it holds the air very well. For the 2 weeks we were gone we only had to add air just one other time.
If you have some vacations coming up and have a toddler I highly recommend this bed. We are excited to use this in the future for other vacations we have planned!
