Winterfest is coming up in Lake Geneva on Wednesday, January 29th through Sunday, February 2nd, 2020. The festival is dedicated to art, winter, and fun! In addition to the national snow sculpting championship (this year marks the 25th year it’s being held in Lake Geneva), the event organizers are bringing back some favorites like bonfires and s’mores on the beach and human dog sled racing. They are also adding in a downtown cocoa crawl, winter-inspired movies (yes, that includes Frozen 2!) and fire dance performances.
The major highlight of Lake Geneva Winterfest is the United States National Snow Sculpting Championship. Fifteen teams of snow sculptors and artists from all around the U.S. compete for a national title. Winterfest attendees can watch how the huge snow blocks are transformed into masterpieces with simple hands tools. Afterwards, visitors can watch the US National Snow Sculpting Championship Award, and the Peoples’ Choice Award being received by artists at the beautiful Riviera on the lake.
This event is FREE and open to the public. For more details – visit their Facebook event page or website.
