6. Newborn Photo Props
Red Owl Photo Props is a Madison based Etsy shop and is truly amazing! She can whip up any hat or accessory you dream of. She also has cheese clothes (like those pictured below) in pretty much every color imaginable!

7. Headbands & Accessories
Bean & Bubs makes headbands (pictured below) and bowties (something for the boys, too!) and Little Me Bling creates headbands galore. Both are Madison based and very talented! I love giving headbands and accessories when they are expecting a girl – especially if it’s their FIRST girl!

8. Personalized Burp Clothes
We used about a gazillion burp clothes in the first year with my twins. I loved having cute ones to pack in the diaper bag for when we where on the go. You can order some on Etsy or even just buy a 12 pack of Gerber ‘diapers’ at Target and get them embroidered locally. Cute and practical!
9. Big Bro or Big Sis Book
My toddler loved getting gifts, too! She has a big sister book that she read every day while my babies were in the NICU – by the time they came home she was a pro at her new role!
10. Act of Service
Perhaps the best way to show you care! Acts of service and love are sometimes the very best gift you can give! Offer to take the older child for a day – take him/her to the park, the library, the museum while mama gets some one on one time with her new bundle of love. Make her a meal or create a meal train. Come over and help tidy her house or do her laundry while she (tries to) rests. (Here is my favorite snack to make for a new mama!)
And there you have it – 10 of my ‘go-to’ gifts for friends who are blessed by baby #2 (and so on!)
Alisa Sleep
Alisa was born and raised in Iowa before attending Arizona State University. She then lived in Chicago, Georgia and Florida before settling in Madison. From her nomadic lifestyle grew a love for the beach, as well as a fondness for spicy food, sushi, white wine, southern charm, Diamondbacks baseball and idyllic ocean sunsets. Alisa and her husband, Joe, are parents to Ava Mae (August 2012) and twins, Nora & Jacob (March 2014). Alisa is a work-from-home mompreneur with a passion for business, fashion, fitness, community and all things mom. When she’s not enjoying time at home with her family, you can find her sweating it out on the tennis court, training for the next big race, pinning her heart out on Pinterest and exploring Madison with her little ones (and sweet Boston Terrier, Peaches) in tow.

It can be tricky since this isn’t their first baby, but there are still tons of options. If you aren’t feeling super creative-think practical. Diapers, wipes and target gift cards always go a long way. If you are looking for something more fun, check out this post! […]
