If you are planning to stay in Madison this 4th of July – then Waunakee is the place to be! Back and better than ever, WaunaBoom provides one of the very best family-friendly 4th of July celebrations around. Thanks to their generous sponsors and volunteers – this event is FREE to attend and has SO much to do for the whole family. The event kicks off at 2pm at Ripp Park in Waunakee and runs until 10:30pm where they have fireworks as the grand finale! Ripp Park is located on the far west side of the village at 213 Dorn Drive.
Sponsored by Hottmann Construction, free busing will be provided to and from WaunaBoom between 1:45 pm to 11:15 pm, every 30-minutes. Park and ride the bus at Prairie, Arboretum or the Middle school. Street parking is also available around and near WaunaBoom.
Below we’ve shared many of the activities you can expect! A kids bike parade, live music, caricatures, face painting, bubble table, sidewalk chalk, balloon art, magician, bounce houses, laser tag, a rock climbing wall, emergency vehicles, helicopter rides and more.
In addition there are also 10+ food trucks with food available for purchase (just $6 for most menu items). You can see more times and details below, but this truly is a family celebration and there is something for everyone! It’s such a special way to celebrate Independence Day! ????????????

- The day will conclude with a Large Fireworks Display at dusk by Chrome Fireworks & Krueger Pyrotechnics!
*Stay for the impressive show by Chrome Fireworks and Krueger Pyrotechnics & Firework Displays. The show starts when the western horizon is completely dark. During the show, music will be playing that is family-focused. The fireworks are not choreographed to the music. After the finale, lights will turn on all around the park to ensure a safe departure for all the guests.
