*Dane County Public Health Guidelines will be followed – the warming tent is treated as an ‘indoor’ space.
Kids Dash
Families and children especially have a lot to look forward to. Prior to the race, the Kids Gobbler Pavilion features custom Berbee Derby tattoos, fun photo opportunities, warm-up activities with our turkey mascot—all under a heated tent. Kids ages 2-6 can also participate in the Kids Dash, a free (untimed) 100-yard race that includes a bib, medal, and t-shirt.
5K/10K run/walk | All Age & Abilities
The Berbee Derby 5K run/walk welcomes families of all ages and abilities. Kids under 3 years old in strollers are free and don’t need to register. 4-6-year-olds are only $5, and they get the t-shirt and other swag. A family of 5 or more can even form a team, and choose a team name to be printed on the back of their shirts at no extra cost.
Most memorably, this is a fun, festive event. You will see costumes and funny hats, you’ll hear music and cheering, and you will be a part of a local tradition that brings in people from all over the country. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday season.
The Technology Education Foundation
By choosing the Berbee Derby, participants are not only having fun with their families, they are directly impacting their local community. The Technology Education Foundation supports groups that are closing the technology gap among people of all ages and abilities in our community. 100% of the run’s proceeds goes to the foundation. The Technology Education Foundation has given out more than $1.6 million dollars to grant recipients within the community.
