Tucked alongside McKee Road on Madison’s west side is a cozy little preschool called Country Grove. On the outside, the school looks quaint and inviting, and inside, it’s even moreso. Large, bright classrooms are decked out in kids’ art projects and always brimming with the sounds of happy kids at play.
Country Grove’s principle belief is that children need a positive self image to learn and grow. Their caring staff are committed to making sure children feel loved, accepted, valued, and self-confident. The teachers are friendly, outgoing, and genuinely passionate about kids’ education, and they take the time to get to know each child in school, including those outside of their own classrooms.
Country Grove is city accredited, with licensed teachers, and is proud to have earned 5 stars on the YoungStar rating scale. The lead teachers in each classroom hold Bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
Country Grove’s goal is to help children learn about the world through active exploration and hands-on experience. Each classroom’s curriculum teaches art, language arts, math, cultural studies, music, science, and motor skills, using a themed curriculum that keeps kids interested and engaged.
Country Grove offers full and part-time care for ages 2-4K, with a regular daily schedule and several classroom field trips to different places in Madison throughout the year. They also offer before and after school care for school age children, servicing Chavez Elementary and Country View Elementary. School age kids enjoy frequent trips to the Verona library and, in the summer, they rotate between various public pools for afternoon swims.
