As parents, sometimes convenience is a necessity…same goes for date night! Since we don’t have family in the area or a slew of babysitters to choose from, our nights out need to be well planned so we can soak up every minute of our treasured adult-time together. Recently, my husband and I had a date night at the Marcus Palace Cinema in Sun Prairie where we got it all… drinks, dinner and a movie all under one roof!
Being that it was our first time at this location, we were surprised to see the Take Five Lounge, a full-sized bar inside the theater. We were also super impressed with the wide assortments of beer, wine, top-shelf liquor and signature cocktails such as the Mixed Berry Sangria and the Mango Mojito! As we enjoyed our drinks in the relaxing lounge atmosphere, we got lost in conversation (as we tend to do) and almost forgot we were actually in a movie theater.
After our drinks, we headed to the Big Screen Bistro auditorium. Of the Palace’s four Big Screen Bistros, we were seated in the auditorium that featured the SuperScreen DLX experience. Super-sized screen, immersive sound, extremely comfortable, heated, reclining seats with individual tables… it was awesome! Normally, when I think of being at a movie theater, I think of popcorn and candy. Don’t get me wrong, they DO have plenty of that but they also have a full menu of food that we were able to order and enjoy right in our seats! I am pretty health conscious (most of the time) so I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of healthier options I had to choose from including the Mexi-Chicken Bowl and variety of salads. However, that doesn’t mean we didn’t indulge in the AMAAAZING wonton-wrapped mozzarella sticks! Those are worth falling off any diet for!
We saw the movie A Star is Born (excellent, by the way) and the sound was unbelievable! It truly sounded like we were at a live concert during moments of the movie making the experience of connecting to the film that much better.
I highly recommend Palace Cinema! Not only will we plan future date nights at Palace Cinema, we will also bring our movie-loving 6-year-old daughter back with us as well! With $5 Tuesdays, $6 Student Thursdays, year-round offerings like the Kids Dream Family Film Series and the Magical Movie Rewards program, going to the movies can be an affordable activity for even a larger family! Thank you for having us, Palace Cinema!

Haven’t been to a movie in forever!!
Sounds so fun!! Also, whats this date thing you speak of? ????
My husband need a date so bad!!
We haven’t been on a date in months! This would be amazing!!
The Take Five & Big Screen Bistro sound AMAZING!
As two working parents of two little ones, a dare at the movies sounds like a dream!
Last week we celebrated 7 years of marriage and didn’t get a date night since it was on a school night. There are a few movies we’d love to go see together. This would be a fun date night for us!
The last movie my husband and I went to see together was at the Palace Cinema too but that was over four years ago! We saw Jurassic World! Lol. A date night now after having three kids sounds awesome.
We need a date night! We haven’t had once in since July and I think it’s time we had one. We celebrated 7 years of marriage last week and didn’t get to go out since it was a school night for our kiddos. This would be fun!
We haven’t been on a date since a company awards banquet in January. We celebrated our 7th year of marriage with me in Korea, and our 8th year of marriage with me in Poland, and we will celebrate our 9th next year with me being overseas again. I still love him to pieces no matter what, though! I would love to give him a night out without pulling double duty with our daughter for the hundredth time this year 🙂
With both of us working FT. 3 kids. 2 fur kids. And me going to school to get my NP.. we have zero time for just us. We’d thoroughly enjoy this night out! ????
My hubby and I work opposite schedules and often struggle to even get adequate family time in. So you can only imagine how little couple time we make for dates…yup, you guessed it…none! This sounds like such a fun place to check out!
I work retail and am already exhausted and there’s still two months until Christmas ???? My husband and I would love a night out!
We love this theater!
