(Madison, WI): This summer Hilldale has a couple fun event series specifically for kids to get out and have some fun! They are offering the Hilldale Hijinks series – free events on The Green (dates below) for kids during the week; and Tiny Diners (date below) on select evenings.
Let your littles let loose. Wiggle your way to The Green at Hilldale for some summertime fun! Each Hilldale Hijinks event will feature a different theme and activity best suited for kids ages 3-10.
While these events are free to attend, please register in advance using the links below as space is limited and to plan accordingly.
July 14: Hoop Dance Class
Hoop Dance Class with Hoop Elation: This instructional program will begin with a performance by instructor, Danielle. Then it’s time to get hooping! Participants will learn beginner friendly hoop moves through the 10-Trick Game. Danielle will lead hoop based creative movement exploration exercises, partner/group activities, and games. All hoops are provided (recommended for ages 4+).
July 27: Bubbles & Beats
Bubbles & Beats with Creando Explorertorium: Sing a song and dance along! Scarves and musical instruments provided. Families are welcome to bring additional instruments like maracas, toy guitars etc.
August 10: Art
What do toilet paper rolls, plastic bags, cardboard boxes, old toys and bottle caps have in common? You can use them all to make surprisingly cool art! This “Recycled Art Studio” class lead by Emily Popp will show students over 10 unique techniques to take everyday objects and transform them into decorative art, jewelry and sculpture. Learn how artists use secondhand materials to make one-of-a-kind works. After this class students will never look at trash the same way again! All supplies provided (recommended for ages 5+).
August 24: Science
Soapy Science with LUSH: Learn more about the science happening at LUSH, then create your own bath bomb.
Treat your little ones to a dinner date designed just for them. Draw on your placemat, dance through dessert and enjoy a carefree, kid-friendly “fine” dining experience.
Tiny Diners is a family-friendly take on a “fine dining” experience. Parents can bring their children on a date night and enjoy a stress-free way to dine al fresco. Families can pick up takeout from any one of Hilldale’s great cafes and restaurants and enjoy it in The Plaza. There, families will find entertainment of all kinds for kids to enjoy while they have their dinner, including magic and music, chalk, bubbles and more.
