(Madison, WI): For anyone who likes to be a savvy shopper – Hy-Vee is now making it easier with their cash conversion feature. Hy-Vee is piloting this new feature at all Madison area locations, now through August 31, 2021.
There are a lot of reasons why Hy-Vee is a favorite for many families — in addition to carrying one of the widest selections of groceries/specialty items in the area; they also make it super convenient with their online shopping offerings and grocery delivery programs. Their bakery can offer birthday cakes or desserts for any occasion (they are delicious and reasonably priced) and their floral department also has something for every occasion. From organic items, their meat and deli, to every day needs – Hy-Vee likely has it in their aisles.
And as an Iowa native — I love that I can find Whitey’s ice cream at Hy-Vee (it’s the only place locally that carries this Quad Cities brand!).
Hy-Vee is employee owned and is known for their customer service (a helpful smile in every aisle…) and for treating their employees really well. So if you are looking for some work – or if you have a high school student, this is a great place for them to apply.
I could go on about the reasons I love Hy-Vee – but will get to the focus of this post which is their Cash Conversion (and yes, that’s yet another reason to love Hy-Vee!).
Cash Conversion
Think of it as a way to earn ‘free money’ simply by purchasing items that you planned to purchase anyway!
Loyalty customers are now able to “convert” their Fuel Saver reward balance into store credit with a 1 to 10 conversion rate. Fuel Saver + Perks Program is FREE and separate from Hy-Vee Plus.
For every $0.01 in Fuel Saver you have, you will get $0.10 in store credit. (i.e. $1.00 in Fuel Saver would convert to $10 in store credit – useable immediately).
When the pilot ends (on August 31) the customer will no longer be able to convert their fuel saver cents to store credit, but any store credit balance will remain on their account until they use it or it expires.
The more people that try this out and give Hy-Vee feedback; the more likely it will be to come back permanently in the fall! So give it a try and share your thoughts… because who doesn’t love earning ‘free money’ on items you are buying anyway?!
How it Works
Step1: Open the Aisles Online mobile app and tap on the Fuel Saver tab on the bottom navigation.
Step 2: Tap on the red “Convert My Rewards” button.
Step 3: Tap on “Convert” to confirm in the pop up message.
Step 4: You will see a success message and your store credit balance will show as added to your Fuel Saver card.
Step 5: Next time you shop in store and use your Fuel Saver + Perks card it will automatically apply the store credit.
Hy-Vee Fuel Saver + Perks Conversion FAQs
Q: How do I convert my Fuel Saver reward balance to use in store?
A: Simply download the Hy-Vee Aisles Online mobile app. Log in with your Fuel Saver + Perks account information and tap the Fuel Saver tab. Tap the “VIEW ALL REWARDS” button where you can view your available rewards and the possible store credit amount. Tap on the “CONVERT MY REWARDS” button to complete converting Fuel Saver fuel discount balance to store credit.
Q: I converted my Fuel Saver but changed my mind. Can I convert back to use a fuel discount?
A: No, there is not a way to convert back to a fuel discount after you have converted to store credit.
Q: Does my store credit expire after I convert it?
A: Yes, your store credit will expire at the same time the Fuel Saver balance would have expired. For example, if your balance expires at the end of this month then any conversion to store credit would expire at the end of the month as well.
Q: What types purchases can I use my store credit on?
A: You can use your store credit on everything you earn Fuel Saver rewards on. The following items are excluded or restricted in some way: alcohol, tobacco, fuel, price-controlled milk products, kerosene, insurance or any other third-party payments for prescription drugs or other products or services, co-pays and deductibles for government-funded benefit programs (where prohibited), postage stamps, lottery tickets, money orders, money transfers, pre-paid debit card, gift-card purchases, amusement or entertainment tickets, fundraising activities (script program), donations, taxes, returned check service fee, Joe Fresh clothing and accessories, and items prohibited by law. Q: How do I redeem store credit on a purchase?
A: It’s easy to use store credit on a purchase. Just scan your Fuel Saver + Perks card or mobile app or provide your phone number. When the transaction is totaled any store credit will automatically be deducted from the subtotal.
Q: Where can I redeem store credit?
A: When you convert your Fuel Saver reward balance to store credit it is available to use at any Hy-Vee grocery store.
