Today is National Coffee Day! Who doesn’t love an extra excuse for a cup of Joe (or 2… or 3)?! To make it easy for you to celebrate this National Holiday (yes – it counts as a holiday for moms!), we’ve made a round-up of some of our favorite local coffee shops! If we missed your favorite, please add it in the comments. There are a ton of great choices right here in Madison so get out there and DRINK LOCAL!

Ancora Cafés: 3 awesome locations, even one at the airport (you know you need that coffee before a long flight with a toddler or jetting off for a meeting).

112 King St, Madison (608) 255-0285 – The original Ancora cafe which opened 20 years ago located right off the Capitol Square in downtown Madison. A warm fireplace, plenty of seating, 18 varieties of Fair Trade Organic beans, bakery from Madison Sourdough, gourmet grilled cheese sandwich options made with local cheeses & Madison Sourdough bread, plus alcoholic coffee drinks, wine & craft beer options.

2871 University Avenue (608) 233-5287 – A prime spot to grab coffee on your morning commute! Located right on University Ave. (1 block after Whole Foods), this location boasts 18 varieties of Fair Trade Organic beans, bakery from Madison Sourdough + free parking so you can quickly get in and grab your morning fix!

MSN Airport Madison -Ancora has 2 cafes at the airport, one before check in on the first floor, and one between gates 7-8 on the 2nd floor.

Barriques: With locations all over the city, you’re sure to find one you love! Cozy atmosphere great for getting a little work done or chatting with a friend. Plus, they have a great retail wine and beer section.

Bradbury Coffee: 127 N. Hamilton Madison, WI (608) 204-0474. A bright and modern shop with homemade crepes and homemade hot chocolate (perfect for kiddos!). Plus they have an awesome list of local farms they get their ingredients from. Bonus, it’s right across the street for the children’s museum – win, win!

Café Maya: 5501 Odana Rd. Madison, WI (608) 709-1909. A new local coffee shop with all the classic coffee shop drinks as well as signature drinks adapted from how coffee is prepared in Mexico. They serve baked goods and sandwiches as well!

Coffee Bytes: 799 University Square Madison, WI 53715 (608) 256-9501 and 1402 Regent Street Madison, WI 53711 (608) 237-2869. Two great downtown locations serving Fair Trade, organic coffee, plus healthy food options.

Colectivo: 25 S. Pinckney St. Madison, WI 53703 (608) 255-0474, 583 State Street Madison, WI 53703 608-709-1911, 2530 Monroe St. Madison, WI 53711 608-630-8930. Three great Madison locations for this modern and eclectic coffee roaster. Coffee is hand roasted in Milwaukee. Baked goods and food served as well.

Cool Beans: 1746 Eagan Rd. Madison, WI 53704 608-244-8414. This east side staple is warm and cozy with a kid’s play area!

Crema Cafe: 4124 Monona Drive Madison WI 53716 608-224-1150. A cute and eclectic cafe serving awesome coffee and food. Healthy kid’s menu and toys and books to keep little one’s occupied at the table.

Ground Zero: 744 Williamson St Madison, WI 53703 (608) 294-8668. Bright and fun vibe in this local favorite on Willy Street.

Helbachs: 410 D’onofrio Drive Madison WI 53719 608-821-0571. A new west side shop offering coffee and food. Bonus: they have a drive through.

Indie Coffee: 1225 Regent St. Madison, WI 608.259.9621. Bright and eclectic with a fun lunch menu including a kid’s menu.

Kin Kin Coffee Shop (Inside Festival Foods): 810 East Washington Avenue Madison, WI 53703 844-511-3887. Drop off the kiddos to play at the free child care area, grab a cup of joe, and get some grocery shopping done with ease.

Lakeside St. Coffee House402 W Lakeside St Madison, WI 53715 (608) 441-7599. Beautiful views and warm coffee, not much more one could ask for.

Lazy Janes Cafe: 1358 Williamson St, 1348 Williamson St Madison, WI 53703 (608) 257-5263. Baked goods galore!

Michelangelos: 114 State Street Madison, WI  53703 608-251-5299. Long hours and great coffee at this State Street staple. Perfect for early morning farmer’s market trips, or dare I say late nights after a date night.

Manna Cafe: 611 North Sherman Avenue Madison, WI 53704 (608) 663-5500. Coffee and creative food. A kid’s menu as well at this cozy north side location.

Mermaid Cafe: 1929 Winnebago St.Madison, WI  53704 608-249-9719. Great food and cozy environment.

MOKA: 2910 E. Washington Avenue, Madison 53704 608.442.6651 and 5227 University Avenue, Madison 53705 608.236.9070. Two words: Drive through! Inventive seasonal drinks.

Salted Root: 11 N Allen St. Madison, WI 53726 608.709.1234. Artistic and cozy at this local spot.

Step & Brew West: 6656 Odana Rd Madison, WI 53719 (608) 833-6656. A long time staple on the west side, this friendly shop is a great stop.

TNT Coffee & Cafe: 729 N. High Point Rd. Madison, WI 53717 (608)831-2298. Right next to the Alicia Ashman Library, this is great spot to grab some coffee or lunch.

True Coffee: 6250 Nesbitt Rd, Fitchburg, WI 53719 608-663-9390. A warm and kid-friendly location.

The Victory: 2710 Atwood Ave Madison, WI 53704 (608) 240-0366. Friendly and warm with yummy baked goods too.

Yola’s: 494 Commerce Dr, Madison, WI 53719 (608) 827-5800. Amazing food, including homemade waffles and so much more. Kid’s menu and play area make this a must stop on the west side.

ZuZu Cafe: 1336 Drake St., Madison, WI 53715 (608) 260-9898. Neighborhood cafe featuring coffee, ice cream, deli (plus they have retail wine and beer). Family-friendly with a small kid’s area, right across from the Henry Vilas Zoo.

Can’t make it to a coffee shop? Grab a Cadence Cold Brew (locally brewed awesomeness) at many area locations.
