Madtown Juniors Volleyball | For Ages Kindergarten and Up

Volleyball is such a great sport for youth — but it hasn’t always been easy to find opportunities to play. We were recently introduced to Madtown Juniors Volleyball and my two daughters (9 and 8) have been participating in their clinics. They are a local volleyball club which was founded in the summer of 2021.

They are the only volleyball club in the Madison area with their own dedicated facility — which is located in Sun Prairie. It’s an impressive facility featuring multiple courts!

They have clinics and camps for kids as young as kindergarten – with an age-appropriate focus of building a love for the game and teaching basic athleticism and volleyball skills.

League One Volleyball (LOVB) Club

Madtown Juniors is a League One Volleyball (LOVB) club. LOVB is an organization dedicated to advancing women’s volleyball in the US by building a strong network of youth clubs, and eventually developing a women’s professional league in association with these clubs. LOVB is planning to launch a pro team in the Madison area and, when that occurs, their athletes will benefit from the mentorship of the professional players. The association with LOVB comes with many other benefits, including national-level coaching expertise and guidance, college recruiting assistance, and resources to help train the whole athlete both on and off the court.

Upcoming Camps & Clinics

They are offering skills camps and clinics in May, June, and July. If your daughter is interested in playing on a team, they offer several different commitment levels for girls in 4th-12th grade. Tryouts for these club teams are in October, and the season starts in December and runs into the spring. They will also be offering a fall youth league for girls in grades 4-6.

Madtown Minis May/June session: 5/4/22-6/22/22 | Wednesdays 5-6pm – at their facility (2840 Innovation Way in Sun Prairie). For boys and girls K-6th grade with any level of volleyball experience (including no experience).

May Skills clinics: Focus on single skills (serving, passing, setting, etc.): Various dates in May, see website for details. Open to girls of all ages and experience levels (including no experience).

Find programs currently open for registration by going to the website and clicking on register for programs (and then camps & clinics).

Club Leaders

The club is led by three women with a wealth of volleyball experience. Amy Angelos, (director), Mackenzie Long, (technical director), and Cathy Sheffield, (youth director). All played and coached at the Division I collegiate level, and have been coaching club and youth volleyball for many years. The coaching staff also includes many local high school coaches and former college volleyball players.

Mission Statement

To develop elite volleyball players at the collegiate, scholastic and fundamental development levels, as well as confident, strong future leaders in a unique challenging environment through positive and constructive interaction with coaches, teammates, and families.
