Meet Dr. Wendy Jin | UnityPoint Health – Meriter’s Newest Pediatrician

(Madison, WI): Dr. Wendy Jin has joined UnityPoint Health – Meriter’s pediatric team. Dr. Jin is a pediatrician at UnityPoint Health – Meriter’s West Washington Clinic and McKee clinic and is now accepting new patients.

Dr. Jin’s approach to medicine has never been to treat diseases, but to treat people. She believes that listening carefully to a patient followed by a thorough physical exam makes up the foundation to determining the cause of a health problem.

We were excited to ask her a few questions, to get to know her. She is a mom herself and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Madison, WI community!

Dr. Jin’s Bio:

My family and I immigrated from China when I was 4 years old. I grew up in Minnesota where I went to Carleton College, met my husband there, and we then moved onto UMN for medical school. Afterwards, I left to train at my Pediatrics residency program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH where I continued on as faculty working with patients, medical students, and residents in our Ambulatory and Urgent Care Pediatrics division. We then moved out to the Pacific Northwest for a few years where I worked as the first outpatient pediatrician for a large multi-specialty practice.

There, we also stayed busy with a new baby, our two dogs, and exploring the outdoors and delicious restaurants in Portland.

We moved back to the Midwest this summer to be closer to family, which has been wonderful despite the challenges this year has brought with the pandemic.

In our free time, we are trying our best to safely explore our new home here in Wisconsin with our daughter and pups, catching up on Netflix shows, and trying out new recipes. I also like to paint and practice yoga, though these hobbies have certainly become trickier as my toddler likes to try to join in!
