(Madison, WI): Even before the pandemic, my family loved doing staycations in the winter. A staycation is a fun way to feel like you are on ‘vacation’ without leaving your own city.
The hotels we are sharing below all have indoor pools – please call to make sure the pool is fully open and to find out what their current protocols are, as they seem to be constantly evolving. Our favorite thing is to check in, go for a swim, unwind in the room, grab some takeout from a local restaurant, play a game, swim again, watch a movie… go to bed. Wake up, eat breakfast and go for another swim and then head home! It’s inexpensive, safe and fun.
