
(Madison, WI): Summer has almost arrived, and with it, the return of free and low-cost programming on the Memorial Union Terrace — including live music, film screenings, arts opportunities, outdoor recreation and more. June 1 – August 24, patrons can enjoy free Lakeside Cinema films every Monday evening at 9 p.m. on the UW Credit Union Terrace Stage.
The scheduled dates and titles are as follows:
- June 1: “Space Jam”
- June 8: “Whip It”
- June 15, “Speed Racer”
- June 22, “Bend It Like Beckham”
- June 29, “Challengers”
- July 6, “Finding Nemo”
- July 13, “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou”
- July 20, “Aquamarine”
- July 27, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”
- Aug. 3, “Back to the Future”
- Aug. 10, “The Princess Bride”
- Aug. 17, “Little Shop of Horrors”
- Aug. 24, “RoboCop”
Filmgoers can enjoy $1 hot dogs, chips and sodas starting at 8 p.m. on Lakeside Cinema Mondays as part of an exclusive film screening deal.
Seating during live music and film showings is available on a first come, first served basis. In the case of inclement weather, the Union team will aim to move the performance or film showing into der Rathskeller inside Memorial Union.
