Halloween Legends & Lore

Oct. 14-15, 21-22

Eerie tales lurk in the dark, as legends and lore come to life in the woods. Tonight the veil is thin between this world and the next. What is real, and what is a legend? Explore the Crossroads Village after dark. Venture into the dark of the woods. Scattered around the village are performances and storytelling, along with games and spooky fun. With map in hand, you’ll move around the site, encountering different storytellers and performances. Warm up with drinks and sweet treats, hear live music, or shop in the Museum Store before heading home through the darkness.

Wisconsin Beer Run

Oct. 30

Hey mom and dad, here’s a little something for you! Step back in time as you race through Old World Wisconsin’s historic spaces at the Wisconsin Beer Run. Your 5K journey will take you through the site’s scenic Crossroads Village, with historic homes, stores, and workshops. After a beautiful run or walk through the forests in full fall color, you’ll enter the scenic Scandinavian Homestead before passing the collections building, modern animal barn, and administration building, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Old World Wisconsin’s operations. The closing stretch passes the site’s farms during the harvest season before ending with a sprint back to the village.
