Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get ready for day-cations and road trips with the whole family! As a mom, I know this is easier said than done, but I promise, with a little preparation, road trips CAN be fun!
The most crucial part of planning a day-trip or road trip with little ones is making sure you pack activities AND snacks. Hungry kids = Cranky kids, as we all know. Keeping yummy (and healthy) snacks on hand while you are on the go is a great way to keep kids busy, happy and ready for action. Planning out healthy grab-n-go snacks is a great place to start as you begin to plan your trip – and it’s easy to find grab-n-go snacks from your local Stop-N-Go convenience store!
Some of our favorite quick options are Ritz and Peanut Butter “sandwiches”, string cheese, bananas, popcorn and granola bars (great to toss in a purse or backpack, too!). We also love to pour Cheerios into snack cups, or making our own Trail Mix with almonds and dried fruit and pouring it into cups that fit into the car’s cup-holders. Yum! These are all simple, easy to transport options and healthier than a bag of potato chips. Most of these power snacks can be found at your local Stop-N-Go – perfect to have on hand when you are miles from the next rest stop and your kiddos need a pick me up!
In addition to their convenience store selections, Stop-N-Go offers an awesome promotional program called “Race-to-Savings” which rewards members with prizes and discounts that change each month. For the month of May, members can text FREE to 30364 from 5/7-5/13 to receive a free 1L Ice Mountain Natural Spring Water! Click here for more information about joining this great rewards program
Stop-N-Go began as a family owned, Madison based business and this ownership structure remains in place today – more than 50 years later! Stop-N-Go is active in local communities and supports local programs such as: The Madison Mallards, The Dugout Club, Fitchburg Days and Youth Baseball and Softball teams. They are also involved in raising funds for St. Jude, the MACC Fund and Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes.
