Fall is one of my favorite seasons. Sure things are starting to wind down, but for a fall-lover like me, they’re just hitting their peak! Fall is the time of year my spirits are the highest – perhaps it’s all the home-made yummy pies and goodies, the colors on the trees, and the cool nights and warm days.
As far back as I can remember, fall was the time of year that I was always at numerous orchards, farms, festivals, parties, you name it. That did not change when I moved from Massachusetts to Wisconsin. Every year I’d try to find a new farm, to see what was out there. However, once I found Treinen Farm, I knew I had a keeper where I’d return to every year. They were small when I first started visiting them. They had a horse-drawn hay ride to their pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and that was about it. Through the recent years, they’ve expanded to include more fun activities for the little ones; more things to do and “feel” (a corn kernel sand box, slides, kittens, baby chicks, etc.) and are now a place to go and spend the day, with or without kids!
We love this farm so much that we brought our first born there when he was roughly 4 weeks old. We are returning this coming weekend with our son who will now be a year and four weeks old. We are looking forward to seeing how he reacts to the Clydesdale horses and the scenic ride out to the pumpkin patch to find and pick the perfect pumpkin!
