So what IS a waterless nail service?!
This was a new concept to us as well AND something I was admittedly skeptical about. BUT. Now that I have gone waterless – I’m not sure I’ll go back!
Waterless manis and pedis are much like traditional services, except they skip the hand or foot soak at the beginning. Instead, they use an all-natural foaming cleanser and a warm towel wrap to clean and soften the skin (it’s very relaxing!). There are several reasons:
Reduces Infection Risk: When you go waterless, there’s is no risk of waterborne infection, which can be commonplace in some manicure and pedicure experiences.
Longer Lasting Manicures: Your nails expand when soaked in water, which causes polish to chip prematurely once your nails dry completely and contract back to normal size, hours after your service.
Soaking in the Good Stuff: When your skin is waterlogged, its unable to absorb moisturizing products, like our 100% natural oils, butters, and lotions. Skip the water and let your skin enjoy some TLC.
Saving the Planet: The average pedicure in a traditional nail salon uses up to 15 gallons of water!
What makes Laquerus “non-toxic”?
By being a non-toxic nail studio, Laquerus pledges that all products used on their clients will be free from ingredients that have been found to lead to toxic responses in humans. These ingredients include: phthalates, parabens, petroleum, asbestos, lead acetate, and coal tar. Both their gel and regular polishes are 5-Free at minimum, meaning they are without the following harmful ingredients known to cause health problems including cancer, asthma, skin irritation, and loss of nerve sensation: toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor.
