What to Watch on TV this Winter | My 15 Favorites + Recommendations from Local Moms

The kids are finally asleep and now you have time to yourself. If you are anything like me, you eventually turn on the tv and start scrolling. But so often, I never stop scrolling — because I never know what to watch. And then when I finally do find something, I fall asleep minutes later.

I asked our readers what they have watched (and loved) lately – so that the next time you have a chance to unwind, you can watch something that’s tried and true!

My favorite series that I have watched:

Atypical (Netflix) Comedy/Drama

Big Little Lies (HBO) Drama
*I subscribed to HBO just for this… and it was worth every penny. This is still a favorite!

Big Sky (Hulu) Drama

Dead to Me (Netflix) Comedy

Friends from College (Netflix) Comedy
*You’ll wonder why there aren’t more seasons…!

Grace & Frankie (Netflix) Comedy
*Loved, loved, loved this show and cast!

I’m Sorry (Netflix) Comedy/Sitcom
*Unexpectedly raunchy in parts — but light-hearted and funny.

Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu) Drama
*Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon are everything!

Ozark (Netflix) Drama

Schitt’s Creek (Netflix) Comedy/Sitcom
*Short episodes and this show totally fills my cup.

Ted Lasso (Apple TV) Comedy/Sitcom
*Might be the most ‘feel-good’ show I have watched in ages!

The Morning Show (Apple TV) Drama
*The reason I subscribed to Apple TV… patiently waiting for season 2!

The Undoing (HBO) Drama
*I watched the entire series in a weekend – it’s THAT GOOD.

Virgin River (Netflix) Drama

What/If (Netflix) Thriller

Yellowstone (Peacock) Drama

You (Netflix) Thriller

Netflix Movies

These are all mindless and movies in which I watched the entire show. There are plenty of movies that I start, but never finish… and these held my attention til the end for one reason or another! When I look for movies, I look for cheesy or funny (so keep that in mind when taking my advice!).
