Spring break is just around the corner, and the Milwaukee Public Museum (MPM) is gearing up to offer an exciting lineup of events and activities for visitors of all ages.
March 25 – April 5
From March 25 through 30 and April 1 through 5, join MPM Educators in a celebration of the best parts of the season with hands-on activities focusing on butterflies, botany, and birds. The festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Streets Alive! | March 15-16
Mark your calendars for “Streets Alive!” on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event, making a comeback since the pandemic, invites attendees to travel back in time and discover the people, places, and products that made Milwaukee famous. Docents dressed in period attire will be present in the Streets of Old Milwaukee exhibit to answer questions and provide insights into Milwaukee’s past.
Creepy-Crawly Day | April 6
One of the highlights during this period is “Creepy-Crawly Day” on April 6, a special event dedicated to exploring the fascinating world of insects and arthropods. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can get up close with live bugs, use microscopes to study their intricate details, and gain a deeper understanding of why these creatures are both interesting and important. Members can also enjoy an exclusive storytime from 9-10 a.m., designed for children aged 3-8.
If you’re not already a member, now is the perfect time to join and take advantage of exclusive events like the members-only storytime. Visit mpm.edu/membership for more information.
Gallery Tours on Saturdays
In addition to the Spring Break festivities, MPM has other exciting events lined up for March and April. Every Saturday, visitors can join gallery tours exploring various exhibit galleries, offering a unique perspective on the museum’s diverse collections.
Mystery at MPM: Family Edition | April 13
