Zimbrick Honda :: Best Vehicles for Families

One of the many tools in a Mom’s toolkit is the right vehicle. As the mom of three – including a set of twins, I understand how much you depend on your vehicle.

My name is Jill Warren, and I am a Sales and Leasing Consultant at Zimbrick Honda. I’ve spent the last 18 years of my career helping families, just like yours, find the right vehicle.

This is my fourth post that walks you through the road map to finding the perfect car. If you didn’t get a chance to read my first three installments – click here, here and here

Just as a reminder – here is the road map:

Today we are picking up the discussion on step #10!

Financing

The Finance department at Zimbrick Honda is one of those time savers. Zimbrick Honda works with about twenty five banks and credit unions to find you the best rates. If you have great credit, we know who will reward you for it with a great rate. If your credit isn’t so good, we also have partners who can help you live your life while you repair your credit. You don’t have to call your bank, or shop rates. We do all of that for you!

The finance department also makes sure that if you are transferring plates or if you need plates you don’t have to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles. We handle all of that paperwork for you. If you want to transfer your plates, just bring them with you and I will install them on your new vehicle.

The finance department can also help you in a few other ways. If you do decide to buy a vehicle, rather than lease, you may want to buy an extended warranty. The Honda warranty is 3 years, 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). It also comes with a 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty on the powertrain. (That’s the really expensive stuff like the engine and transmission.)  So if you are financing for 5 or 6 years, you may want to consider a service contract. A service contract pays for repairs for as much as 120 months and 120,000 miles and can be tailored to your driving needs. This can also be rolled into your payments, so you are covered if anything breaks down once you are out of warranty.

Are you a person who loses their keys? Keys are expensive, because they are basically mini computers.  So if you’ve ever lost your keys, you might want to consider a Titanium plan. It covers lost keys including fobs and programming. Plus it covers windshield repair for chips and cracks u to 6”. And it covers damage to tires and wheels caused by road hazards and pot holes.

And one other product Moms can appreciate is the paint and interior protection. The interior protection alone is worth it – it cover spills, rips, tear, burns and punctures. And on the outside it covers damage that comes from bird droppings, tree sap and UV rays, just to name a few.

None of these are required, but by thinking ahead, you can save yourself some money. If you are leasing, you can also ensure that you don’t get charged for any unusual wear and tear. Moms have more to worry about then keeping the car in pristine condition.

Delivery

A Zimbrick delivery is more than signing the paperwork and handing you the keys.  It’s an orientation. As the Sherpa, I am getting you ready to go out on your own, and that takes about 1 ½ to 2 hours.

  • Inspection of the vehicle – your new vehicle will be perfect. Our prep department will have removed all of the plastic, washed it, and given it a complete detail including the tires.
  • Meet with the Finance Manager to sign all of the paperwork.
  • Facility tour. We’ll introduce you to your Service Advisor.
  • Review your vehicles warranty and maintenance schedules.
  • Review all of the features and controls. It is very important for you to know how to turn on your headlights, windshield wipers, defroster etc.  I want you to feel comfortable driving your new vehicle home.

I know that the first place you want to drive your new car is NOT to the gas station.  So you will leave Zimbrick Honda with a full tank of gas!

New car day is a very exciting day and we don’t expect that you’ll remember everything. That’s why we have one last step!

Follow up

I will call you about 2 days after you pick up your new car. If you have any questions, I am here to help.  As a salesperson, I don’t just disappear after you’ve bought the car.  I am here to help you “settle in.” If you can’t figure out how to update the clock when it’s time to spring ahead or fall back, just call me.  And remember, there are no stupid questions. I really want you to love your new car. In fact, I want you to love it so much that you come back when you need another car, and to send your friends and family members who need a car to me.

I love my job, that’s why I’ve been doing this for 18 years. I’d be happy to help you find your next car.  You can reach me at [email protected] or (608) 230-0496. If you’d like to see my bio click here.  I am in the second row of salespeople.
